Assalmualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, Peace be upon us all. Tax is a mandatory contribution of citizens, the most significant major component of state revenue. Based on the State Budget (APBN), Taxes contribute more than 70% of state revenue to meet the needs of Human Resources who, manage Taxation in the National, Provincial, and Regency/City governments and private demands. A forum is needed to educate the younger generation, in this case, the Diploma III Tax Administration Study Program. The Diploma in Taxation Administration, opened in 1995 by the Department of Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara is the realization of one of the programs contained in the MOU between Universitas Sumatera Utara and the Directorate General of Taxes signed on February 11, 1994 by Prof. H.M. Yusuf Hanafiah (Rector of USU) and Dr. Fuad Bawazier (Directorate General of Taxes) This Diploma Program is a complement to undergraduate education. In 1995, the Diploma I and III Tax Administration Program of FISIP USU was opened with the approval letter of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 43829/MPK/94, Letter of the Director General of Taxation No. 43829/MPK/94, and Letter of the Director General of Taxation No. 43829/MPK/94: 43829/MPK/94, Letter of the Director General of Taxes No: 5.81/PJ.8/1994, Letter of Head of Regional Office I of Sumbagut DGT No. S-586/ WPJ.01/ bg/94: S-586/ WPJ.01/ bg.0102/ 1994, and USU Rector Letter: 6882/PT05.H/1994. The Diploma I Taxation Program lasted until 1999, and currently, only the Diploma III Tax Administration Study Program is still ongoing under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Furthermore, based on the USU Chancellor's decree Number: 1491/UN5.1.R/SK/SPB/2022 dated June 27, 2022, the Faculty of Vocational Education was officially established at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. To organize the Faculty of Vocational Studies at the Universitas Sumatera Utara, based on the Decree of the Chancellor of the Universitas Sumatera Utara Number: 3110/UN5.1.R/SK/SDM/2022 concerning the Transfer of Heads, Secretaries of Study Programs and Heads of Laboratories for the 2021-2026 Period at the Universitas Sumatera Utara to the Faculty of Vocational Education starting August 19, 2022, thus the Faculty of Vocational Studies at the Universitas Sumatera Utara currently manages 14 diploma study programs including the Diploma III Tax Administration Study Program. The Diploma III Tax Administration Study Program has graduated more than 2000 Alumni who work in the public/government sector and BUMN/BUMD, both central and regional and the private sector. Some have even become Tax consultants. This Study Program website can provide information about the existence of the Diploma III Tax Administration Study Program, especially explanations to prospective students, partners, and the general public.
