Another remarkable achievement has been earned by a student of the Diploma III English Study Program, Faculty of Vocational Studies. Intan Theola Methanoia Silaban (Student ID: 251706039), together with the ULOS Choir, won Third Place Honorable Mention in the Vocal Group Category at the 2026 National Student Church Choir Festival (PESPARAWI).

The national-level competition was held on October 20–23, 2026, at Universitas Tarumanagara, Jakarta, and organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education. The National Student PESPARAWI is a choral music competition featuring church hymns and serves as a platform for students from universities across Indonesia to showcase their abilities, creativity, and passion for choral music.
This year, 25 universities from across Indonesia participated after passing the video selection stage. The intense competition presented its own challenges for every participant, including the ULOS Choir, which had prepared extensively to deliver its best performance.

In preparation for the competition, the ULOS Choir held regular rehearsals three times a week. The training covered vocal techniques, German pronunciation, choreography, intonation, dynamics, and specialized practice sessions based on each member’s vocal part.
One of the biggest challenges during the preparation process was learning the German pronunciation of one of the songs they performed, Ehre Sei Gott In Der Höhe. In addition, members had to manage their time between academic activities and rehearsals while mastering the musical dynamics to deliver an optimal musical interpretation.
Winning Third Place Honorable Mention was a source of pride for all ULOS Choir members. This achievement also maintained the same result the team had earned in the previous two years. Although the team had hoped to achieve a higher result, its members remained grateful and proud of the entire process, their hard work, and the outcome.
This achievement demonstrates that students of the Diploma III English Study Program are capable not only of developing their academic competencies but also of showcasing their potential and creativity in the fields of arts, culture, and extracurricular activities at the national level.
The Diploma III English Study Program, Faculty of Vocational Studies, extends its appreciation and congratulations to Intan Theola Methanoia Silaban and all ULOS Choir members for this remarkable achievement. May this accomplishment inspire them to continue creating, developing their potential, and reaching even greater achievements in the future.
