Medan, September 17, 2026 — The Diploma Program in Japanese Language, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held the Inauguration of the HINODE Student Association (HMJ) Management Board for the 2026/2027 Period. The event was attended by faculty and study program leaders, lecturers, alumni, and representatives of student organizations within the Faculty of Vocational Education USU.
The activity began with an opening by the Masters of Ceremony (MCs), Nesya Cahaya Rotua and Erbansa Baharaja Brogin Hutagaol, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, and a prayer. The event continued with remarks from the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Mourin Balqis Afriza, and a representative of BEM. Remarks were also delivered by faculty leaders and alumni. The remarks were delivered by alumni representative Rudy Dermawan, S.S., M.Si., Head of the Diploma Program in Japanese Language, Murniati Br. Barus, S.S., M.Pd., and Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP.
The highlight of the event was marked by the reading of the Decree (SK) on the Inauguration and the Administration of the Oath of Office for the new management board, led directly by the Head of the Diploma Program in Japanese Language, Murniati Br. Barus, S.S., M.Pd. As an expression of gratitude and a symbol of the beginning of the new term of office, the event continued with a tumpeng-cutting ceremony.
In her first remarks, the elected Chairperson of the HMJ HINODE for the 2026/2027 Period, Zone Maker Sundana Tarigan, expressed her commitment to making HMJ HINODE a more inclusive, collaborative, and achievement-oriented organization throughout the coming term. The inauguration series then concluded with a special Yosakoi Dance performance by a collaboration of Japanese Language Diploma Program students, adding to the festive atmosphere.
