Medan, February 22, 2025 – To enrich students' practical knowledge, the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation at the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara, conducted an industrial visit to PT. Bina Teknik is a company that specializes in manufacturing various types of tank bodies.
The head of the General HR Division and other staff members welcomed and guided students to observe the equipment used in calibrating tank bodies with capacities of 100 L, 500 L, 1000 L, 2000 L, and 4000 L. Additionally, they examined installed tank bodies on trucks along with their accessories. UML Pematang Siantar verifies all tank body productions before being operational.
PT. Bina Teknik highly appreciated the presence of students, lecturers, and educational staff from the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara. She expressed their readiness to provide academic guidance and collaborate further with USU.
Through this industrial visit, students gained new insights and learned the fastest calibration methods, which are not typically covered in classroom lectures.
This study visit was also attended by the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara (Drs. Gustanto, M.Hum), and the Head of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation (Junedi Ginting, S.Si, M.Si). The Head of the Diploma Program expressed gratitude to PT. Bina Teknik, thank you for your warm and proactive guidance throughout the visit.
