Medan, July 22, 2026 – The Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a meeting to prepare for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year and the study program accreditation process on Wednesday (July 22, 2026) in the Academic Room of the Faculty of Vocational Education. The meeting was attended by all homebase lecturers and education personnel of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation as part of a joint commitment to improving academic services and preparing for the study program accreditation scheduled for 2027.
The meeting was officially opened by the Head of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Dona Tiara Lubis, S.T., M.T. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of synergy among all lecturers in ensuring the readiness of the Odd Semester while preparing the necessary documents and supporting requirements for study program accreditation. According to her, effective coordination is key to improving academic quality and delivering a high-quality learning process.
The first agenda of the meeting focused on the distribution of lecturers’ teaching workloads for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year. The discussion was conducted collectively by considering lecturers’ competencies, balanced teaching workloads, and course requirements to ensure that the learning process could be carried out optimally.
The meeting then addressed the division of responsibilities for the preparation of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation accreditation, which is scheduled for 2027. Each lecturer was assigned responsibilities according to their respective areas of expertise and accreditation criteria, allowing the document preparation process to be carried out in a more structured, effective, and timely manner.
During the discussion session, one of the lecturers of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si., provided input regarding the involvement of practitioners in the learning process. He proposed that practitioner lecturers be allocated seven teaching sessions, considering that their practical experience could provide broader insights into the application of knowledge in the industrial sector. The proposal was considered as one of the efforts to strengthen practice-based learning and improve graduates’ readiness to meet the demands of the workforce.
Through this meeting, the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of education while making thorough preparations for accreditation. The outcomes of the discussion are expected to serve as a foundation for more effective course implementation and contribute to achieving optimal accreditation results in 2027.
