Innovation Clinic: Student Project Review Toward OLIVIA XI 2026
Medan, May 19, 2026 – The Diploma Program in Tax Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized an activity titled “Innovation Clinic: Student Project Review Toward OLIVIA XI 2026” as a form of support and intensive mentoring for students who will participate in the national competition OLIVIA XI 2026. This activity served as a platform for strengthening ideas, refining student projects, and providing guidance to help students produce competitive and high-quality innovations.
The event was held in Room 307 of the Faculty of Vocational Education. It was attended by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of the Faculty of Vocational Education, the Head of the Study Program, lecturers, and students of the Diploma Program in Tax Administration.
The activity began with remarks from the Head of the Diploma Program in Tax Administration, Dr. Faisal Eriza, S.Sos., MSP., who stated that the innovation clinic is part of the study program’s commitment to supporting the improvement of student achievements, particularly in scientific and innovation competitions. He expressed hope that all participants would take advantage of this coaching clinic to refine their projects and enhance both the quality of their presentations and the substance of their proposed ideas.
The next remarks were delivered by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU, Dr. Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP., who expressed appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm in developing creativity and innovation through national competitions. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of collaboration, critical thinking skills, and students’ courage in presenting innovative solutions that benefit society.
The coaching clinic sessions were conducted together with supervising lecturers who provided guidance, feedback, and evaluations of the students’ projects. The supervising lecturers involved in this activity included Dr. Faisal Eriza, S.Sos., MSP.; Aulia Arif Nasution, S.H., M.H.; Syafrita Ridha Ginting, S.E., M.Sc.; Ulfah Oktorida Sihaloho, S.AP., MAP.; and Dena Andromeda, S.Ars., M.S.P.
During the review session, each team presented the ideas and projects they had prepared for OLIVIA XI 2026. The supervising lecturers provided various suggestions related to strengthening concepts, innovation, thematic relevance, and presentation techniques to ensure the projects would have stronger competitiveness at the national level. A total of nine prospective OLIVIA XI 2026 teams participated enthusiastically in the activity. The interactive discussions provided students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the ideas they had developed while also improving their readiness for the competition.
Through this Innovation Clinic activity, the Diploma Program in Tax Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes to further motivate students to continue innovating, produce creative and solution-oriented projects, and bring pride to the Faculty of Vocational Education USU in the national competition OLIVIA XI 2026.
