Audience Meeting and Cooperation between the Faculty of Science and Technology of the State Christian Institute (IAKN) Tarutung and the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara

Medan, March 03, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held an audience meeting and cooperation discussion with the Faculty of Science and Technology of the State Christian Institute (IAKN), Tarutung. The activity took place on Tuesday, March 03, 2026, and was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Vocational Education, USU, and the Faculty of Science and Technology, IAKN Tarutung. The meeting aimed to strengthen cross-institutional collaboration in the development of applied education, research, and community service programs.

The event began with an opening by the Master of Ceremonies, followed by remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education at USU, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, S.E., M.E. In her remarks, she stated that the Faculty of Vocational Education at USU is always open to academic collaboration, particularly initiatives that directly improve the quality of vocational learning.

 

The program continued with remarks from the Vice Rector III of IAKN Tarutung, Dr. Hanna Dewi Aritonang, M.Th. She expressed appreciation for the opportunity provided by the Faculty of Vocational Education at USU and conveyed her hope that this cooperation would yield innovative programs that enhance knowledge development and student competencies.

Both faculties then signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as a shared commitment to developing collaborative programs in education, research, and other academic activities.

During the audience meeting between the Faculty of Vocational Education USU and the Faculty of Science and Technology IAKN Tarutung, both parties agreed to strengthen their partnership through various forms of strategic collaboration. The cooperation discussed includes joint research and community service among lecturers, the organization of collaborative exhibitions, and the development of student mobility programs such as student exchanges and internships. Both institutions are also committed to producing tangible outputs each semester as part of the implementation of sustainable cooperation.

In addition, opportunities for international cooperation were discussed, including collaboration in tourism through research and other support programs.

The Faculty of Vocational Education USU hopes that this collaboration will continue sustainably and generate strategic programs that improve the quality of vocational education while expanding academic networks at both regional and national levels.
