Medan, August 24, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again recorded an achievement through the improvement of lecturers' competencies in Technology Literacy for Educators – 21st Century Learning Design. Two lecturers of the Faculty of Vocational Education, USU, successfully earned the Certified International Technology Literacy for Educators – 21st Century Learning Design, as recognition of their competency in utilizing technology to support innovative learning processes relevant to the demands of contemporary education.

The Faculty of Vocational Education USU lecturers who successfully obtained the certification are:
• Yunita Sarah Siregar, S.E., M.Si. – Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Public Sector Accounting
• Syafrita Ridha Ginting S., S.E., M.Sc. – Diploma Program in Tax Administration

The attainment of this certification is a source of pride and demonstrates the commitment of Faculty of Vocational Education USU lecturers to improving their professional capacity. 21st Century Learning Design is an approach that encourages educators to design learning that not only focuses on mastery of subject matter but also develops important student skills, such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the effective use of technology.

The Faculty of Vocational Education USU continues to encourage the development of lecturers' competencies and professionalism as part of its efforts to provide vocational education that adapts to technological developments and the needs of the workforce. The certifications earned by Yunita Sarah Siregar and Syafrita Ridha Ginting are expected to contribute positively to improving the quality of learning within the Faculty of Vocational Education USU.
