Medan, May 23, 2026 – The Statistics Student Association (HIMASTA) of the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), successfully organized the 2026 Sports and Arts Week (PORSENI) as a platform to strengthen solidarity, enhance togetherness, and foster creativity among students of the D3 Statistics and D4 Statistics Study Programs.

The event was held at the Student Center Hall of Universitas Sumatera Utara and was attended by lecturers and students. The program began with participant registration and pre-event activities hosted by the master of ceremonies. The atmosphere became even more vibrant with the official opening ceremony, a joint prayer, and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya.

In his remarks, PORSENI Chairperson Michael Octavianta Bangun stated that the event was not only a competition but also a means of strengthening unity and fostering a sense of family among Statistics students.

The Chairperson of HIMASTA, Muhammad Haekal Adam Sutara, also delivered a speech and expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm of all participants who took part in PORSENI 2026. The event also received support from alumni and representatives of the study programs, who attended and encouraged students to remain active in both academic and non-academic activities.

Representing the D3 Statistics and D4 Statistics Study Programs of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU, Yan Batara Putra Siringoringo, M.Si., expressed his appreciation to the HIMASTA organizing committee for successfully conducting the event with a strong spirit of togetherness. He also hoped that the event would serve as a platform for students to develop their soft skills, strengthen relationships among different cohorts, and build the character of active, creative, and collaborative students.

The highlight of the event featured a variety of creative performances by students, including infographic presentations, traditional dances, and fashion shows performed by representatives from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts. Each performance captivated the audience and received enthusiastic appreciation from participants and spectators.

Through this event, students not only showcased their talents and creativity but also strengthened their spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-confidence. PORSENI HIMASTA 2026 is expected to become a positive annual agenda that continues to strengthen relationships among students while fostering an active, creative, and harmonious organizational environment within the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
