Medan, September 16, 2026 – The Metrology and Instrumentation Student Association (HIMMI) of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held the inauguration of the HIMMI Management Board for the 2026/2027 Period. The activity took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) USU on Wednesday (September 16, 2026).
The activity, organized by the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, marked the beginning of the HIMMI Management Board's term of office for the 2026/2027 Period while continuing the role of the student organization in supporting the development of students' potential, creativity, and student activities within the study program.
The inauguration was attended by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs; the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Internationalization; the Head of the Study Program; lecturers; representatives of the BEM Faculty of Vocational Education USU; representatives of student associations from other study programs; and students.
The series of activities began with remarks from the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of student organizations as a platform for students to develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as gain experience in carrying out various activities that support personal development.
Next, the Head of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Dona Tiara Lubis, S.T., M.T., delivered remarks as well as directions and expectations for the HIMMI Management Board for the 2026/2027 Period to carry out its responsibilities with full accountability and present programs that benefit students and support the advancement of the study program.
Following the remarks, the activity continued with the inauguration ceremony of the HIMMI Management Board for the 2026/2027 Period, led by the Head of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation. The ceremony marked the beginning of the new HIMMI management period and served as a momentum for the management board members to carry out their mandate and organizational responsibilities for the coming period.
After the inauguration ceremony, the activity continued with remarks from the Chairperson of HIMMI for the 2026/2027 Period. In the remarks, the Chairperson of HIMMI expressed a commitment to carrying out the management period in a spirit of togetherness and encouraged all members to actively participate in various HIMMI activities.
The inauguration of the HIMMI Management Board for the 2026/2027 Period is expected to serve as an initial step for the new management to continue developing the organization as a platform for student learning and personal development. Through various programs and activities to be implemented, HIMMI is expected to strengthen student solidarity, improve leadership capacity, and build collaboration with various parties within the Faculty of Vocational Education and Universitas Sumatera Utara.
