Medan, June 23, 2025—The Faculty of Vocational Education at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the inauguration ceremony of the Student Executive Board (BEM) for the 2025/2026 term. The event took place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU in a solemn atmosphere filled with a spirit of togetherness.

The inauguration ceremony was officially opened by the Vice Dean I, Dr. Drs. Muhammad Husni Thamrin, M.Si., and was attended by lecturers, representatives from Student Association Councils (HMJ), and members of the academic community of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU who came to show their support.
In his speech, the Vice Dean I expressed his pride and appreciation to the previous BEM administrators for their valuable contributions. He also motivated the new board members to carry out their duties with full responsibility and innovation.


Salsabila, representing the outgoing BEM Chairperson, Jovito Septian Wijaya, also delivered remarks. In his message, Jovito emphasized that this inauguration was not merely ceremonial but a symbol of the continued spirit of struggle for vocational students. He stated that leadership is not only about position but about the courage to serve and stand at the forefront in fighting for student aspirations. He encouraged the new board to continue the positive initiatives that had been started and to be unafraid of innovating for the advancement of BEM Vokasi USU.
The event continued with the reading of the Dean's Decree of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU regarding the appointment of the new BEM board. The symbolic handover of attributes marked the beginning of the new administration of the BEM Faculty of Vocational Education USU for the 2025/2026 term, as a form of responsibility transfer from the previous board.

In his inaugural speech, the elected BEM Chairperson, Rifqi Akmal Harahap, expressed his gratitude for the trust that had been given to him and the entire board. He committed to making BEM an active, open, and collaborative organization. Rifqi also invited all board members to unite to present impactful work programs and advocate for vocational students' interests in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Meanwhile, the BEM Vice Chairperson, Dinara Shabrina Wardhani, delivered a warm address. She emphasized the importance of cross-departmental synergy and healthy communication among board members. Dinara hoped that BEM would be a structural platform and a space for student actualization that is inclusive and adaptive to the times. She encouraged the spirit of collaboration and empowerment of student potential to continue growing in a positive organizational environment.

The inauguration procession concluded with a photo session with the faculty leadership, lecturers, HMJ representatives, and guests.

This moment marked the beginning of a new journey for the BEM Faculty of Vocational Education USU for the 2025/2026 term to continue creating and making a meaningful contribution to the beloved campus.
