The Diploma Program in Chemistry, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, carried out an Incursion Visit and Sharing Session on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (INALUM) located in Batubara Regency, Asahan. The Chemistry Diploma Student Association carried out this activity. This activity was attended by Dr. Muhammad Taufik S.Si., M.Si as the Diploma Program in Chemistry advisor, Agung Pratama S.Si., M.Si as Diploma Program in Chemistry, Juli Novita Sari S.Si., M.Si as Diploma Program in Chemistry homebase lecturer, Marina Wulandari Nasution, S.I., M.Si as Diploma Program in Chemistry homebase lecturer, Dr. Sri Pratiwi Aritonang, M.Si as Diploma Program in Chemistry academic staff and attended by Diploma Program in Chemistry students class of 2022 and 2023.
In this activity, students tour the carbon factory that produces anode blocks, consisting of a raw carbon plant, roasting plant, and anode assembly plant. After finishing visiting and studying the section, students and lecturers were presented with material about PT INALUM, which was guided by the resource person, Muhammad Jufri. This is where students, lecturers, and resource persons interact and give opinions.
With this activity, students are expected to increase their knowledge and understanding and have the potential and interest in working for a company to face the world of work in the future.
