Faculty of Vocational Education USU Holds Innovation Product Development Activities and Workshop on Preparation and Assistance in Writing IPR Manuscripts
Medan, 13-14 November 2024—The Faculty of Vocational Education of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) will hold an Innovation Product Development and IPR Manuscript Drafting and Writing Workshop from 11 to 14 November 2024. This event aims to increase participants' understanding of product innovation and manuscript preparation for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
This activity began with a briefing on Monday, November 11, 2024. Furthermore, the main series of events were held for two days, namely on Wednesday and Thursday, November 13-14, 2024, divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning session discussed the development of innovative products with resource persons Mr. Ryalsyah Putra, SE, M.Si as President Director of PT PAS and Mr. Ilham Syahputra, SE as Director of PT Sultan Aren Indonesia, and the afternoon session discussed the Workshop on Drafting and Assistance in Writing IPR Manuscripts with resource persons Mrs. Dr. Irwana Nainggolan, M.Sc and Dr. Reni Asmara Ariga, S.KP. MARS.
In his presentation, the resource person explained the procedures for filing and applying for PATENT, Brand, and scientific work assistance. The resource person suggested that students who already have innovative products in the form of PATENT Brands can immediately register their products.
The event involved an official opening, remarks from Mr. Drs. Gustanto and M. Hum as Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU., a group photo session, and direct assistance from competent resource persons. By presenting relevant material, it is hoped that participants will increase their understanding and skills in developing innovations and compiling IPR manuscripts effectively.
In addition, through intensive assistance provided, participants are expected to be able to compile IPR documents in a structured manner and under established standards. This activity is a concrete step by the Faculty of Vocational Education in encouraging the creation of a culture of innovation and protection of Intellectual Property Rights among academics and practitioners.
