Medan, September 7, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Education at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) reaffirmed its commitment to providing globally oriented learning experiences through the 2026 International Summer Course, themed “Future Proofing Global Business and Accounting: Digital Innovation, Sustainable Finance and Governance.”
Running from September 7 to 14, 2026, the program features a series of activities designed to provide participants with a comprehensive international learning experience. The 2026 International Summer Course offers participants opportunities to broaden their perspectives through international learning, knowledge sharing, and networking, while also gaining insights into Indonesian culture alongside participants and speakers from various countries.

The program was officially opened on Monday, September 7, 2026, via Zoom Meeting. The opening session began with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education at USU, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, S.E., M.E. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of strengthening global perspectives and international collaboration in preparing students and young people to navigate the increasingly dynamic business and accounting landscape.
The event continued with remarks and the official opening by USU Vice Rector III for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T. The opening demonstrated Universitas Sumatera Utara’s support for strengthening the internationalization of education, developing academic networks, and expanding collaboration with partners from various countries.

Following the opening session, participants attended a session featuring Suhizaz Sudin from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), who presented on “Artificial Intelligence for Business and Accounting Transformation.” In his presentation, Suhizaz Sudin discussed the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of business and accounting transformation. The material was presented as an executive business strategy guide, exploring how AI can support financial modernization, risk management, capital efficiency, and strategic decision-making in an increasingly complex and dynamic business environment.
From September 7 to 14, 2026, the 2026 International Summer Course will continue with a variety of activities bringing participants together with academics, practitioners, and international partners. These activities provide opportunities for participants to gain new knowledge, engage in discussions, exchange experiences, build international networks, and learn in a multicultural environment.

Beyond academic aspects, the program also provides participants with opportunities to experience Indonesian culture. The combination of international learning, knowledge exchange, global networking, and cultural experiences is expected to make the 2026 International Summer Course a comprehensive and memorable learning experience.
By addressing issues of digital innovation, sustainable finance, and governance, the 2026 International Summer Course represents one of the Faculty of Vocational Education at USU’s efforts to prepare adaptive, innovative human resources with global competencies.
