The Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation at USU carried out a program to strengthen students' industrial insight through internships at the Center for Security of Health Equipment and Facilities (BPAFK) from July 1–15, 2025.
In addition, the internship was held at PT. Pertamina Trading & Services (July 1–31, 2025). This internship had a significant impact on enhancing students’ understanding of metrology, particularly regarding the use of equipment at the institutions/units where they were placed.
On July 30, 2025, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU, represented by Drs. Gustanto, M.Hum (Vice Dean III) and Junedi Ginting, S.Si, M.Si (Head of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education USU), along with Sritata Tarigan, SE (Educational Staff of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education USU), conducted an internship evaluation for students at PT. Pertamina Trading & Services, a Pertamina subsidiary engaged in LPG and asphalt.
The one-month internship provided students with practical insight into the professional world, particularly in operating equipment that had previously only been studied in the classroom. During the internship, students were able to directly use tools such as bridge scales, TUTSIDA, TUTSIT, and other instruments. Through this short internship, students have prepared themselves to enter the workforce after completing their studies.
