Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) 2024 Faculty of Vocational Studies USU
The USU Faculty of Vocational Education organizes Campus Life Introduction activities for New Students (PKKMB) to provide an initial introduction for new students to campus history, institutions - institutions that exist on campus, types of academic activities, curriculum systems, effective learning methods in universities, university leaders, Faculty, lecturers and others; therefore PKKMB is an essential activity in various universities.
PKKMB at the USU Faculty of Vocational Education is held for 3 (three) days, and the first day is focused on participating in activities carried out by the Rectorate. On the second and third days, PKKMB participants are focused on participating in activities carried out by the Faculty and continue with the Closing of PKKMB Activities. The activity implementation occurred on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Mini Stadium of the Universitas Sumatera Utara and on August 14, 15, 2024, in the Faculty of Vocational Education USU.
The material provided during the first day of PKKMB was about the Life of the Nation, State, and State Defense Awareness, Core Values of the Digital Era, the higher education system in Indonesia and Learning at USU, Environmental Awareness, and a Healthy Campus.
The second day of PKKMB was filled with introductory activities to each Study Program carried out by the Chairperson and Secretary of each Study Program. The number of new students who graduated in each Study Program for the 2024/2025 Academic Year was 903, consisting of D4 (Applied Bachelor) study programs and D3 (Diploma).
On the third day of PKKMB, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU held the introduction of BEM and UKM. They ended with competition activities by each Faculty of Vocational Education USU study program.
Basically, PKKMB is one of the efforts to accelerate the adaptation process of forming a complete student personality, professional and ready to face future challenges, and fostering harmonious relationships between students and lecturers. Therefore, PKKMB activities should continue to be carried out every year because it is hoped that the goals and objectives will accelerate the adaptation process of college life.
