LAMEMBA Accreditation Preparation Meeting Becomes a Strategic Step in Strengthening Study Program Governance
Medan, June 2, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a preparation meeting for study program accreditation by LAMEMBA (the Independent Accreditation Agency for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting) as a strategic initiative to strengthen governance and academic quality assurance. The meeting, led directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education, was attended by faculty leaders, heads and secretaries of study programs, lecturers, heads of administrative subdivisions, and educational staff. The event took place in Room 204 of the Faculty of Vocational Education.
The meeting focused on the reaccreditation preparation of five study programs: the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Tourism Business Management, the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Banking and Finance, the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Public Sector Accounting, the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Digital Office Administration, and the Diploma III Program in Taxation. Various key aspects of LAMEMBA’s assessment criteria were discussed in depth to ensure that each study program is fully prepared for the accreditation process.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education emphasized the importance of validating lecturer data based on the Higher Education Database (PDDikti), fulfilling the Full-Time Teaching Equivalent (EWMP) requirements, strengthening lecturers’ academic functional positions, and ensuring the alignment of lecturers’ academic backgrounds with their respective study programs. In addition, all accreditation indicators must be supported by comprehensive evidence demonstrating achievements that exceed the National Standards for Higher Education (SN-Dikti).
The meeting also addressed the readiness of curriculum and learning assurance documents, including graduate profiles, Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), curriculum mapping, Semester Learning Plans (RPS), and the results of learning outcome assessments obtained through learning monitoring and evaluation activities, as well as stakeholder surveys.
As a vocational education institution, enhancing lecturers’ competencies through professional certifications—particularly internationally recognized certifications—and developing sustainable student mobility programs were also highlighted as important components of the reaccreditation preparation. Furthermore, study programs were encouraged to improve transparency by publishing summaries of survey results on their respective websites.
Through this preparation meeting, the Faculty of Vocational Education at USU demonstrated its strong commitment to supporting all study programs in achieving the best possible outcomes in the LAMEMBA reaccreditation process while fostering a sustainable culture of quality across the faculty.
