The Diploma Program in Chemistry at the Faculty of Vocational Education has successfully obtained a Vocational Competitive Fund assistance program in 2024 from the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. To maximize the implementation of the Vocational Competitive Fund assistance program in 2024, monitoring and evaluation activities of monev program progress were carried out. This activity was held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the USU Faculty of Vocational Education Hall and was officially opened by the USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si.

The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, expressed hope that the Competitive Fund program would support the efforts of USU’s Faculty of Vocational Studies in conducting applied research and developing innovative products that can be integrated into the teaching factory learning process. The Rector emphasized the importance of monitoring and evaluation (monev) activities to ensure that the Competitive Fund Vocational Program runs according to plan and achieves its intended goals. He also hoped that the monitoring and evaluation team, comprising Paramita Wikansari, Wiwin Yudiarti, and Anggun Siswanto (from Diponegoro University), would provide constructive information and feedback to improve the program's implementation.

Anggun Siswanto, as a reviewer, stated that the monev activities aim to ensure the Competitive Fund Vocational Program is implemented as planned, identify any challenges encountered, and take necessary corrective actions. This effort is expected to enhance the quality and sustainability of the program and support the development of vocational students' competencies.

The monitoring and evaluation (monev) activity consisted of two sessions. In the first session, the D3 Chemistry study program presented the progress of the ongoing Competitive Fund assistance program. They outlined their achievements, challenges, and follow-up plans. Subsequently, in the second session, the evaluation team provided feedback and suggestions for improvement based on their observations. All representatives from the study programs and the Task Force team actively participated and contributed constructively during the monev activity. The results of this monev will serve as a reference for drafting follow-up plans to optimize the Competitive Fund Vocational program implementation at the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Through this monitoring and evaluation activity, it is hoped that the implementation of the Competitive Fund Vocational program at the Faculty of Vocational Studies, USU, can proceed more effectively and positively impact the competencies of vocational students, thereby supporting the competitiveness of graduates in the industry.
