Malang, July 31, 2025 — The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again achieved outstanding success at the prestigious Olimpiade Vokasi Indonesia (Olivia) X, held at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang. This national-level competition, which took place from July 29–31, 2025, served as a platform for vocational students across Indonesia to showcase their best talents.

USU's Faculty of Vocational Education sent nine of its best student delegates: Jhon Martin Putra Siregar, Azzahra Putri Handini, Meytri Handayani Br. Ginting, Rangga Wardana, Gracia Veronika Nadeak, Sarah Arihannah Nainggolan, Ria Putri Sihombing, Arya Dwi Ardhana Wibowo, and Jasmine Anastasya Widy. These student delegates competed in four competition categories that demonstrated the potential of vocational education at the national level. The Faculty of Vocational Education USU successfully brought home two prestigious awards from this participation.

In the Speech & Debate branch of the Public Speaking category, Jasmine Anastasya Widy won 2nd Place, thanks to her excellent communication skills under the guidance of Mrs. Erna Januarini, S.S., M.Si.


Meanwhile, the “MB Team” consisting of Gracia Veronika Nadeak, Sarah Arihannah Nainggolan, and Ria Putri Sihombing earned 3rd Runner-Up in the Scientific Paper branch of the Social Humanities category, under the supervision of Mr. Faisal Eriza, S.Sos., MSP.

In the Tourism Planning category, USU’s vocational student delegates participated under the mentorship of Mrs. Lailan Syafrina, S.E., M.Si.


Meanwhile, in the Smart System (IoT) category, student delegates also took part under the guidance of Dr. Ir. Zikri Noer, S.Si., M.Si. Participation in these two categories provided valuable experiences that broadened their insights and strengthened their competitive spirit at the national level.

The success at Olivia X 2025 is solid proof that students of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU possess competitiveness, creativity, and great potential to shine on the national stage. This achievement is also expected to inspire other vocational students to continue innovating, creating, and excelling, thereby bringing pride to their alma mater nationally and internationally.
