Medan, December 11, 2025 - The Banking and Finance Study Program, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized a Product Exhibition for the Business Project Course on Thursday, December 11, 2025, held at the Faculty of Vocational Education, USU. This activity served as a platform for students to showcase the business projects they had developed throughout the course.
A variety of innovative products created by students of the Banking and Finance Study Program, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, were displayed at the Product Exhibition of the Business Project Course. As seen in the photo, various products were attractively packaged and ready for market distribution, ranging from herbal drinks, personal care products such as foot spray, aromatherapy candles, to various processed snack foods such as crispy papaya, dried mango slices, and herbal tea.
Each product was designed by considering aspects of quality, packaging, and selling value, reflecting students’ ability to integrate banking and finance concepts with entrepreneurial practices. The neat and informative product displays demonstrated the students’ seriousness in building brand identity and effective marketing strategies.
The diversity of products exhibited not only showcased students’ creativity, but also illustrated business potential that can be further developed. This exhibition serves as tangible evidence of the implementation of project-based learning, where students not only generate ideas, but are also able to present competitive products that are relevant to market needs.
The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in students’ abilities to design and present business ideas in a structured and marketable manner. In addition, students’ confidence in business communication also increased, particularly in conveying ideas, responding to questions, and receiving evaluations. The exhibition also succeeded in bringing forward a number of potential business ideas that can be further developed through coaching and entrepreneurship incubation programs at the study program and faculty levels.
Based on the evaluation, the implementation of the Product Exhibition ran well and received positive responses. Nevertheless, there are several aspects that need to be improved in the future, including strengthening financial feasibility analysis and enhancing the quality of product promotional media. As a follow-up, the Banking and Finance Study Program plans to conduct further coaching in the form of business model development sessions, the preparation of more detailed financial plans, and marketing strategies.
In the future, the Product Exhibition of the Business Project Course is planned to become a regular annual agenda each academic year as a showcase for the outcomes of project-based learning, as well as an effort to build a creative, innovative, and productive academic culture within the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
