Medan, 31 October 2024 - The Faculty of Vocational Education at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), together with HSBC Indonesia and Putera Sampoerna Foundation, successfully organized a seminar entitled “Navigating Sustainability: Exploring ESG Principles for Future Leaders” on Thursday, October 31, 2024. The event occurred at the USU Student Center from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB.
The seminar featured two keynote speakers: Mr. Riko Tasmaya, Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking of PT Bank HSBC Indonesia, and Mr. Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano, Founder & CEO of Waste4Change. Both speakers provided in-depth insights on implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles to support sustainability in various sectors.

Riko Tasmaya explained the role of the banking sector in driving sustainability through effective ESG strategies, while Mohamad Bijaksana Junerosano shared his inspiring experience in responsible waste management through Waste4Change's innovation. Both also provided practical guidance on integrating ESG principles in daily life and the professional world.
The event was enthusiastically attended by USU students and academicians, who hope to understand and apply ESG principles as part of their contribution to sustainable development. This seminar is an important momentum to encourage the younger generation to understand their role as future leaders in creating a better world.
