Medan, August 29, 2025 — ProAksi, an innovative initiative of the Undergraduate Program in Accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business (ProAksiUSU), together with the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Accounting at the Faculty of Vocational Education (VOC4SI), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), welcomed representatives from CPA Australia to explore potential strategic collaboration between academia and the professional world.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Risanty, SE, M.Si, Ak, CA, Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Accounting FEB, and Dr. Sambas Ade Kesuma, SE, M.Si, Ph.D, Ak, CA, Head of the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Accounting, Faculty of Vocational Education (VOC4SI) USU. Representing CPA Australia were Ms. Selvi Angela Tanggara, Country Manager, CPA Australia – Indonesia, and Mr. Putra Idealis, Senior Business Development Manager, CPA Australia – Indonesia. The meeting aimed to introduce the CPA Australia program while opening pathways for collaboration in curriculum development and professional certification, and strengthening student competencies to compete globally.
During the session, Ms. Selvi Angela Tanggara, Country Manager of CPA Australia – Indonesia, stated, “We are delighted to establish a partnership with ProAksi and VOC4SI USU. This collaboration will pave the way for students and academics to gain international professional recognition and broaden their global perspective.” Meanwhile, Dr. Sambas Ade Kesuma, SE, M.Si, Ph.D, Ak, CA, added, “This collaboration is a significant step in preparing students not only to understand accounting theory but also to possess globally recognized professional competencies.”
Both parties agreed to follow up on this meeting by formulating concrete collaborative programs, such as professional certification outreach, curriculum enrichment, and international internship opportunities. We will be holding more talks soon to finalize the framework of this partnership.
