Medan, May 20, 2026 – The Student Executive Board (BEM Fakultas Vokasi Universitas Sumatera Utara) organized a Debate of Candidate Pairs for the BEM VOKASI Election (PEMIRA) 2026 as part of the student general election series to determine the future student leadership for the upcoming term.
The event took place at the Faculty of Engineering Hall and was attended by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization of the Faculty of Vocational Education, lecturers, and students from various study programs within the faculty.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU, Junedi Ginting, who emphasized the importance of PEMIRA as a learning platform for student democracy. He also expressed hope that the entire process would run in a conducive and sportsmanlike manner, serving as a means for students to elect leaders who can advance student organizations in a better direction.
The debate featured two pairs of candidates for Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Faculty of Vocational Education BEM for the 2026 term. Candidate pair number 01 consisted of Kidung Agung Wisanto Ujung from the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Public Sector Accounting and Muhammad Akbar Siregar from the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Instrumentation Engineering Technology. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 02 consisted of Adriano Sukma P. Marbun from the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Applied Chemistry and Ribka Tamara Dauruk from the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Tourism Business Management.
The debate session was moderated and included a series of agenda items starting from the presentation of each candidate pair’s vision and mission, program discussion sessions, and interactive Q&A with students. During the event, both candidate pairs presented their ideas, innovations, and commitments to improving the quality of student organization activities within the Faculty of Vocational Education USU.
The panelists in this event were Sri Yuliasmi and Parlindungan, who provided questions, feedback, and evaluations regarding the candidates’ visions, missions, and work programs. They also encouraged the candidates to present real, solution-oriented ideas for student organizational development.
The debate atmosphere was dynamic and interactive. Students actively participated in the Q&A session by raising questions related to work programs, leadership, and the future direction of the Faculty of Vocational Education BEM.
Through this 2026 BEM VOKASI election debate, it is expected that all students of Universitas Sumatera Utara will gain a deeper understanding of each candidate’s vision and mission and actively participate in creating a healthy, transparent, and high-quality campus democratic process.
