Medan – The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), hosted an official academic quality oversight visit by the USU Academic Senate on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, held in Room 206 of the Faculty of Vocational Education building. The visit was conducted as part of the Senate's statutory duties to evaluate academic quality standards and assess the progress of the University Strategic Plan (Renstra) within the faculty.

The delegation was welcomed by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Engagement, Partnerships, and Internationalization of the Faculty of Vocational Education, alongside heads of study programs, the Head of the Administrative Office, and faculty managers. The supervisory meeting provided a crucial platform to synchronize academic frameworks and strengthen structural synergy between the university's governing body and the faculty.
This evaluation directly reflects the Academic Senate's mandated oversight functions under Board of Trustees (MWA) Regulation No. 1 of 2026 on the Organization and Governance of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Key areas reviewed during the session encompassed strategic planning documents, the Master Plan for Research and Community Engagement, non-thesis final project recognitions, and the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula. Discussions also evaluated international class development, national and international accreditation targets, Fast Track degree pathways, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) frameworks. Additionally, the Senate reviewed specialized University Mandatory Courses, student activity programs, scientific publishing metrics, institutional partnerships, and budget planning.
Through this oversight initiative, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU aims to reinforce internal academic governance, elevate applied education standards, and drive consistent alignment with USU's broader strategic trajectory toward adaptive, world-class higher education.

This quality assurance visit directly supports Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enforcing academic standards, curriculum modernization, and outcome-based learning, as well as SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by upholding robust institutional governance, transparency, and strategic oversight across university operations.
