Medan, October 3, 2026 – Another outstanding achievement was recorded by students of the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), at the national level. The USU Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics student team successfully won 2nd Place in the Business Plan Competition at the Incredible Research and National Competition (INSTINCT) 10 Universitas Riau 2026.

The competition, held on October 1–3, 2026, at Universitas Riau, brought together students from various higher education institutions across Indonesia in various competition categories that encouraged critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and the ability to develop ideas systematically.
In the Business Plan Competition category, the USU Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics student team, consisting of Arya Dwi Ardhana Wibowo as the team leader, and Sadina Umeko and Cahaya Nahura as members, successfully won 2nd Place after competing against 27 teams from various higher education institutions.
The final round of the Business Plan Competition was held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Srikandi Building, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau (UNRI). Meanwhile, the announcement of the winners was held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Tjokro Hotel Pekanbaru.
This national-level competition carried the theme “Optimizing the Role of the Young Generation in Digital Economic Transformation toward a Sustainable Future.” The theme encouraged participants to present innovative business ideas that were relevant to developments in the digital economy and oriented toward sustainability.
During the preparation process, the USU Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics student team received guidance from Saddam Husein Nasution, M.Si., as their supervising lecturer. The guidance played a role in helping the students develop their ideas, strengthen the substance of their business plan, and prepare for the competition stages through the final round.
The competition at INSTINCT 10 Universitas Riau 2026 was highly competitive. From all participants in the competition, the committee selected 10 teams as finalists to compete for 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, 1st Honorable Mention, 2nd Honorable Mention, and 3rd Honorable Mention.
The achievement at INSTINCT 10 Universitas Riau 2026 demonstrates that students of the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics not only possess competencies in their academic field but are also capable of developing ideas creatively and competitively. This achievement also demonstrates the students' ability to transform ideas into works that have value and relevance at the national level.

The Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics, Faculty of Vocational Education USU, extends its congratulations and appreciation to Arya Dwi Ardhana Wibowo, Sadina Umeko, and Cahaya Nahura for successfully winning 2nd Place in the Business Plan Competition. Appreciation is also extended to Saddam Husein Nasution, M.Si. for the guidance and assistance provided.
