Medan, September 15, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a Socialization on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Recognition of the Out-of-Study Program Learning Program (PLPS) for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Hall of the Faculty of Vocational Education.

The activity was attended by the Director and Secretary of the Directorate of Education Development (DirPP), the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education, Vice Deans, the Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, Heads of Study Programs, homebase lecturers, and the Head of the Administrative Office of the Faculty of Vocational Education.

The activity was opened and led by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs. During the activity, the materials were presented directly by Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., Director of the Directorate of Education Development, and Prof. Ir. Maya Sarah, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM., Secretary of the Directorate of Education Development.

The first material discussed the Priority Performance Indicators (IKP) of the Directorate of Education Development, particularly IKP 13 concerning the university's role in achieving the SDGs. It was conveyed that one of the targets requiring attention is the 60% target for higher education institutions' involvement in the SDGs. In the context of learning, the achievement of this indicator can be supported through the integration of the SDGs into various learning components, such as courses, modules, Semester Learning Plans (RPS), lecture materials, and activity videos.

On this occasion, information was also provided regarding the latest curriculum template, which can be accessed and downloaded through the official website of the Directorate of Education Development, Universitas Sumatera Utara, under the archive menu: https://dirpp.usu.ac.id/id/arsip

The activity then discussed the recognition of the Out-of-Study Program Learning Program (PLPS), including references for PLPS recognition and regulations serving as the basis for the implementation and recognition of learning activities outside the study program. This discussion was important in supporting the implementation of more flexible learning while ensuring that student activities outside their study program can be properly recognized in accordance with applicable regulations.

Through this socialization activity, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU is expected to further strengthen the understanding of study programs and lecturers in integrating the SDGs into the learning process and implementing PLPS recognition in a structured manner and in accordance with applicable regulations. This activity is also part of the efforts to strengthen the contribution of the Faculty of Vocational Education to supporting the achievement of the SDGs through the provision of relevant, adaptive, and sustainable education.
