HUMAS USU—The Faculty of Vocational Education of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) organized Vokasi USU Sehat. Activities included fun walks, free medical check-ups, jujitsu attractions, training with MJC, regional dance performances, and live bands. The event was held at the USU Faculty of Vocational Education on Saturday (17/12/2022).
Vokasi USU Sehat is an agenda with the aim of establishing friendships through communication with lecturers from various industries, students, and other faculty members at USU, considering that the Faculty of Vocational Education consists of various departments.
In his remarks, the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si explained that the establishment of vocations that will become the center of student skill development requires strong support from USU and the entire academic community. Therefore, building emotional relationships between lecturers and students through Vokasi USU Sehat activities is crucial to realizing an effective teaching and learning process.
‘Hopefully, this can give us an emotional connection between lecturers and students and partners who will help later in the learning process at Vocational Education. We imagine that this Vocational Education will become a center for developing students‘ skills in the next few years,’ said the Rector of USU.
Vice Dean III of USU's Faculty of Vocational Education, Dr. Gustanto M. Hum, hopes to organise art exhibitions and competitions in the future. The entire academic community and faculty at USU are also expected to share a common vision for building a superior Faculty at USU in the future.
‘Then design activities such as exhibitions, fashion shows, art competitions, singing or dancing, and so on. Our hope is that there will be a common perception. Yesterday, we trained capacity-building training with the tagline that we will work together to build the faculty,' said Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU.
