Medan, October 13, 2026 – As part of the EXPO Vokasi 2026 festivities, the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), invites high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK) students to compete in "The Great Brain Battle" quiz competition scheduled for November 6, 2026.
Medan – In conjunction with the upcoming EXPO Vokasi 2026, the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), is hosting a high school quiz competition titled "The Great Brain Battle" on Friday, November 6, 2026.
Guided by the theme "Smart, Agile, Champion!" (Cerdas, Tangkas, Juara!), the competition offers a platform for senior high school and vocational students (SMA/SMK) to challenge their critical thinking, broaden academic knowledge, enhance rapid problem-solving skills, and practice teamwork in a supportive, educational atmosphere.
Participating schools are invited to register student teams comprising three members. The academic categories featured in the competition cover Mathematics, History, Geography, General Sciences, Civics and Public Policy, Arts and Culture, as well as Vocational Knowledge regarding USU.
The tournament will follow a two-stage format: a preliminary point-based round followed by an elimination final. The event schedule for November 6, 2026, is structured as follows:
08:00–08:30 WIB: Re-registration
08:30–08:45 WIB: Opening ceremony and briefing
08:45–09:30 WIB: Preliminary round
09:30–10:45 WIB: Final round
10:45–11:00 WIB: Winner announcement and award presentation

Through "The Great Brain Battle", the Faculty of Vocational Education USU aims to foster academic enthusiasm, boost competitive spirit, and build early ties with secondary school students across North Sumatra.
This educational competition directly supports Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting youth intellectual development and interactive learning, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering strong outreach networks between vocational higher education and secondary school institutions.
