Global Finnovation Challenge 2026: International Competition “Shaping the Future of Banking & Finance Through Ideas, Creativity, and Innovation”

Medan, September 25, 2026 – The Student Association of the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Banking and Finance, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, organized the Global Finnovation Challenge (GFC) 2026, an international competition that serves as a platform for high school and university students to develop and express their ideas, creativity, and innovations in the fields of banking and finance.

Carrying the theme “Shaping the Future of Banking & Finance Through Ideas, Creativity, and Innovation,” the event features three competition categories: Poster Design Competition, Scientific Writing Competition, and Video Content Competition.

Competition Categories

  1. Poster Design Competition
    Participants can express their creative ideas through poster designs based on various subthemes related to financial innovation, financial inclusion, financial literacy, and the future of the banking industry.
  2. Scientific Writing Competition
    Participants can present their ideas and scientific insights through topics such as Risk Management & Compliance, Credit & Financial Analysis, Islamic & Social Finance, Capital Market, Investment & Wealth Management, and Banking Services & Marketing.
  3. Video Content Competition
    A video competition featuring various themes, including digital financial literacy, cashless lifestyle, financial freedom, green banking, and MSME empowerment.

Activity Timeline

  • Registration Opens: September 14, 2026
  • Registration & Submission: September 14–October 16, 2026
  • Judging Period: October 19–25, 2026
  • Winner Announcement: November 7, 2026

The competition is open to senior high school/vocational high school students, as well as students enrolled in Associate, Diploma, Applied Bachelor's Degree, and Bachelor's Degree programs.

Through this activity, the Student Association of the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Banking and Finance, Faculty of Vocational Education USU, encourages the younger generation to develop innovative ideas and creative solutions in response to developments in the banking and finance industry in the digital era.
