Diploma Program

Established in 2011, the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation is a leading vocational education in measurement science. Our study program focuses on measurement accuracy in science, technology, and industry, including economic and health measurement.

Supported by the best teaching staff with high integrity, this program is committed to producing graduates who are competent, meticulous, observant, and able to compete globally in metrology and instrumentation. Graduates from this program have extensive job opportunities in various industrial sectors, including manufacturing, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and laboratories.

History

2011

The Diploma Progam in Metrology and Instrumentation was established on 15 June 2011 with Decree number 1866/H5.1.R/SK/PRS/2011 at the request of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia to the Universitas Sumatera Utara as a renowned educational institution outside Java. The initial establishment of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation was under the auspices of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, USU.

2022

Since 2022, the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation has been under the USU Faculty of Vocational Education, which is directed to produce skilled intermediate experts with professional abilities in the field of metrology and instrumentation based on knowledge, skills and an honest, clean, and authoritative attitude in carrying out their duties as measures.
