The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) North Sumatra I inaugurated 286 Tax Volunteers for the Nation (Renjani) for 2026 as part of the Inauguration and Training Program held at the 8th Floor Hall of the DGT North Sumatra I Office.
Medan, 26 January 2026 – The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) North Sumatra I officially inaugurated 286 Tax Volunteers for the Nation (Renjani) for 2026 during the Inauguration and Training Program held at the 8th Floor Hall of the DGT North Sumatra I Office.
The tax volunteers, who come from 10 Tax Centers of partner universities, will play an active role throughout 2026 in supporting tax education and assistance for the public, particularly in mentoring individual taxpayers. Of the 286 tax volunteers in North Sumatra this year, 108 are students of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). They include participants from the USU Tax Center involving students from various faculties, including the Faculty of Vocational Education.
At the event, Lusi Yuliani, Head of the Division of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations of the DGT Regional Office North Sumatra I, stated that the Tax Volunteers for the Nation Program provides a tangible contribution to expanding the reach of tax education and increasing voluntary tax compliance within the community.
As a form of appreciation for outstanding performance and dedication, the DGT Regional Office North Sumatra I presented awards to the Best Tax Volunteers of 2025. Five awardees came from the USU Tax Center, including students from the Diploma in Taxation Program, namely Aqila Agustina Malik S., Hananda Dwi Putri Sihaloho, Amelia Efany, Shesilia Angelica Lbn. Tobing, and Rizkatu Annisa Lubis.
The series of activities concluded with a technical briefing session on account activation and authorization codes for the DGT Coretax System, aimed at equipping volunteers with practical skills to provide effective tax assistance to taxpayers.
Through this program, the tax volunteers are expected to become strategic partners in enhancing tax literacy and awareness within society, while also strengthening synergy between higher education institutions and tax authorities.
