The team presented a work entitled “Asuh Tambak: Adoption Commerce Platform Based on Cultivation Cycles to Support Food Transparency and the Empowerment of Indonesian Aquaculture Farmers.”

The 12th Universitas Teuku Umar Awards International (UTU Awards) is an international competition organized by Universitas Teuku Umar as a platform for students to develop ideas, innovations, and creative works in various fields. In 2026, one of the categories entered by the Faculty of Vocational Education USU student team was Online Store Design, which focused on designing innovative and attractive online store concepts with practical value and the potential to be developed into digital business solutions.

In the competition, the team presented AsuhTambak, an adoption commerce-based online store concept that allows people to “adopt” ponds or cultivation activities owned by aquaculture farmers, such as shrimp, fish, crabs, seaweed, and various other commodities.

Through this platform, consumers not only purchase aquaculture products but can also follow and monitor the cultivation process from the beginning through the harvest period. AsuhTambak is equipped with several features, including a cultivation progress dashboard, stories from aquaculture farmers, and a selection of harvest products that consumers can choose.

The concept was designed to build closer and more transparent relationships between aquaculture farmers and consumers. For consumers, AsuhTambak provides an opportunity to understand the processes behind the products they consume. Meanwhile, for aquaculture farmers, the platform is expected to provide broader market access while supporting more predictable income.

The assessment and presentation stage of The 12th International UTU Awards 2026 was held offline at Universitas Teuku Umar from September 21–24, 2026. The success of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU student team in winning Fourth Place is a notable achievement and demonstrates the students' ability to develop digital innovations that integrate technology, creativity, and community needs.

The Faculty of Vocational Education USU extends its congratulations and best wishes for success to Alif Siky Ridhofa, Sadina Umeko, and supervising lecturer Yudhistira Adhitya Pratama, S.Kom., M.Kom., on their achievement. May this accomplishment motivate other Faculty of Vocational Education USU students to continue creating, innovating, and developing solutions that provide benefits to society.
