The Public Sector Accounting Student Association (HIMASIK) organized an iftar gathering to strengthen the sense of family among students, lecturers, and educational staff.

Medan, March 07, 2026 — A warm atmosphere of togetherness was felt during the iftar gathering organized by the Student Association of the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Public Sector Accounting, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara at Tawan Irama. The event brought together students, lecturers, and educational staff in a moment of togetherness that was not only filled with breaking the fast but also served as a space to strengthen relationships and build a sense of family within the study program.

Although some guests arrived slightly later than the scheduled time, the overall event proceeded smoothly and with great enthusiasm. The series of activities was guided by two hosts, Kenisa Br Ginting and Haliza Salsabila, who opened the event with great spirit. The program continued with remarks from the Head of the Study Program, Mr. Sambas Ade Kesuma, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Ak., CA., the Student Association Chair, Fikri Azzaky, the Committee Chair, Faiz Abdillah Rahman, and a lecturer representative, Mrs. Yunita Sarah Siregar, S.E., M.Si., who conveyed messages of togetherness to all attendees.

As the time for breaking the fast approached, the atmosphere became more solemn when a collective prayer was led by Zidan Abdullah, a student of Public Sector Accounting. The prayer became a reflective moment before all participants enjoyed the iftar meal. After the prayer and the breaking of the fast, several students and lecturers also took turns performing the Maghrib prayer.

The warmth of togetherness continued until the end of the event, which concluded with a group photo session to document the memorable moment. Genuine smiles could be seen on the faces of the participants, and even a small mistake during a video recording sparked laughter that further enlivened the atmosphere.

One representative of the new students expressed that the iftar gathering was very enjoyable, especially because the committee and senior cohorts were friendly, making it easier to build connections among students. The student also hoped that in future events, participation from students across different cohorts would increase, making the sense of togetherness even more vibrant.

The Public Sector Accounting Study Program hopes that traditions of togetherness, such as this iftar gathering, can continue in the future. In addition to serving as a platform for strengthening relationships, this activity is also expected to foster a harmonious academic environment that encourages mutual support and strengthens the spirit of unity throughout the educational journey within the study program.
