Medan, May 4, 2026 — The Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Digital Office Administration at the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, organized a Cyber Security Workshop under the theme “Level Up Your Office Skills: From Admin to Cyber Office Expert” as part of its commitment to enhancing students’ competencies in digital office security. The event was held on Monday, May 4, 2026, and attended by the speaker, Head of Study Program, lecturers, and students.

The event was opened with remarks from the Head of the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Digital Office Administration, Dr. Fivi Rahmatus Sofiyah. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of mastering technology and digital security for vocational students in order to adapt to the ongoing digital transformation within modern workplaces.

The workshop featured Ir. Ridho Surya Kusuma as the speaker, who is a researcher at the Cybersecurity Research Centre (CYRES).

During the first session entitled “The Landscape of Cyber Threats in Office Administration,” participants gained insights into various cyber threats that may occur in office administration environments, including malware, ransomware, and the importance of digital forensics in maintaining the security of digital data and documents.

In the second session, “Hands-on: Securing Digital Assets,” participants took part in practical training and simulations related to basic network security and the use of simple data protection tools. This session provided participants with direct experience in understanding measures to protect digital assets in workplace environments.

Participants showed great enthusiasm throughout the workshop, especially during the interactive question-and-answer session between the speaker and participants.

Through this workshop, the Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Digital Office Administration at the Faculty of Vocational Education USU hopes that students will improve their digital literacy and awareness of the importance of cybersecurity in supporting professionalism in the digital era. This activity also reflects the Faculty of Vocational Education USU’s commitment to providing practical, innovative, and industry-relevant learning experiences.
