Assistance in Research and Community Service at the Vocational Faculty of USU
Medan, March 17, 2025 – The Vocational Faculty of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), through the D4 Banking and Finance Study Program, successfully held an Assistance Program in Research and Community Service (PkM) under the theme "Accelerating Innovation: Unleashing Research & PkM Potential." The event occurred in the Auditorium of the Vocational Faculty of USU from 08:30 to 11:30 WIB. It was attended by lecturers seeking to deepen their understanding of research and community service proposal development.
The Vice Dean III of the Vocational Faculty of USU, Drs officially opened the event. Gustanto, M.Hum., emphasized the importance of research and PkM as integral parts of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. He stated that lecturers are strategically responsible for producing high-quality research and contributing directly to society through community service programs.
In the main session, two expert speakers were present to provide guidance. Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., a Food Science and Technology lecturer from the Faculty of Agriculture at USU, delivered material on developing community service proposals. She explained various strategies to ensure proposals meet established standards and secure funding. This session lasted for one hour and concluded with a Q&A session.
Following that, Prof. Dr. Badaruddin, M.Si., a Sociology lecturer from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at USU, delivered material on research proposal development. He highlighted the importance of appropriate methodology and the urgency of research in addressing various social and academic challenges. This session also included an interactive discussion with the participants.
Through this activity, it is hoped that lecturers will be increasingly motivated to develop impactful research and community service programs. The Vocational Faculty of USU remains committed to continuously supporting and facilitating academic activities that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the well-being of society.
