Medan, 17 June 2026 – The Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) participated in the Final Presentation of the Plug and Play Program participants and the handover of students undertaking Field Work Practice (PKL). The activity was conducted in a hybrid format and also involved internship students from the State University of Jakarta (UNJ) who carried out their internship at the Metrology Management Unit (UP Metrology) of DKI Jakarta.

This final presentation served as part of a practice-based learning evaluation as well as a platform for students to present their results, experiences, and analysis reports developed during the program. In his remarks, the Head of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education USU, Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si., expressed his appreciation to the leadership and staff of the DKI Jakarta Metrology Management Unit for their support and willingness to accept and guide students from both USU and UNJ.

He emphasized that the collaboration extends beyond merely hosting internship students, as it also provides comprehensive learning experiences through mentoring and academic evaluation processes.

“Through this opportunity, students not only gain practical experience but also undergo an evaluation process through presentations and analysis of the activities carried out during the program,” said Junedi Ginting.

On the same occasion, via Zoom, Junedi Ginting also officially handed over the PKL students from the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education USU, to the leadership of the DKI Jakarta Metrology Management Unit. The internship program is scheduled to run from 15 June to 15 August 2026.

In his direction, he hoped that all activities would run smoothly and that students would be able to comply with all rules and procedures during their internship at the DKI Jakarta Metrology Management Unit.

He also noted that students are expected to adapt more easily during their internship due to the presence of alumni from the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Education USU—Pratiwi and Lasiner—who are currently working at the DKI Jakarta Metrology Management Unit. Their presence is expected to serve as a bridge of communication and provide support for students during their internship period.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU continues to strengthen collaboration with industry partners and institutions as an effort to enhance student competencies and prepare them for the professional world and challenges in the field of metrology and instrumentation.
