Medan, 08 June 2026 – The Diploma Program in Tax Administration at the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again presented practice-based learning through a Guest Lecturer Session for the International Taxation course held at Gedung Hanif A2, USU Medan Campus. This activity is part of the study program’s efforts to enhance student competencies while strengthening understanding of integrity in international taxation practice. On this occasion, the Diploma Program in Tax Administration invited Muhith Afif Syam Harahap, S.H., M.H. from the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes North Sumatra I as a guest lecturer. Carrying the theme “Strengthening Integrity through Understanding Transfer Pricing and International Tax Compliance,” this session provided students with practical insights into the increasingly dynamic field of global taxation.

In his presentation, the speaker discussed the concept and implementation of transfer pricing, various strategic issues emerging in international taxation, as well as the importance of tax compliance based on the principles of integrity, ethics, and professionalism. Students were also encouraged to understand how international tax policies play a role in creating a fair and transparent tax system.

The interactive discussion provided students with the opportunity to directly explore the experiences and perspectives of practitioners regarding the challenges of implementing taxation at the international level. Through this session, students gained a more comprehensive understanding of tax regulation implementation as well as the importance of maintaining integrity in fulfilling tax obligations.

Through this guest lecturer program, the Diploma Program in Tax Administration at the Faculty of Vocational Education USU demonstrates its commitment to continuously delivering learning processes that are relevant to developments in the taxation field through collaboration with practitioners and stakeholders. This activity is expected to contribute to producing competent graduates who have integrity, and are ready to face taxation challenges at both national and international levels.
