Medan, 26 May 2026 – The Diploma Program in Tax Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), together with the Association of Tax Administration Study Program Students (IMPROSAJA), organized a Scientific Writing Seminar and Talk Show on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at the USU Student Center Hall. The event was attended by the speaker, the Head of the Diploma Program in Tax Administration, and students, as part of the study program’s commitment to enhancing students’ academic skills, particularly in scientific writing amid the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

The seminar featured Drs. Kariono, M.Si., a lecturer of the Diploma Program in Tax Administration, who delivered a presentation on strategies for producing high-quality scientific papers in accordance with academic standards. Participants also gained insights into the use of AI technology as a supportive tool in the writing process, provided it is used wisely and responsibly.

In his presentation, the speaker emphasized that the development of AI technology provides opportunities for students to improve the efficiency of their writing process. However, it must be balanced with critical thinking skills, originality of ideas, and a strong understanding of academic ethics. Students were also reminded of the importance of maintaining academic integrity and avoiding plagiarism in scientific writing.

Through this activity, students are expected to better understand proper scientific writing techniques, strengthen academic culture, and produce works that are relevant, innovative, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

This seminar and talk show initiative represents one of the efforts of the Diploma Program in Tax Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education USU, to equip students with competencies that are adaptive to technological developments while strengthening academic quality within the higher education environment.
