The Faculty of Vocational Education of the Universitas Sumatera Utara successfully held the Non-Professor Academic Senate Election for the period 2024 - 2029 on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The event took place in the USU Vocational Hall and was attended by several Faculty of Vocational lecturers.
This election aims to elect senate representatives who will contribute to academic decision-making in the faculty. In this election, three senate candidates were competing, namely Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si, Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP, and Dr. Yasmin Chairunnisa Muchtar, S.P., M.BA.
The election process started at 08.00 WIB and lasted until 12.00 WIB. During this time, every eligible lecturer is welcome to cast their vote. Vice Chancellor II of USU supervised the election, Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution S.Sos., M.SP., along with a team of supervisors whose job was to ensure that all procedures were carried out transparently and accountable.
After the election process, the event continued with the counting of votes. According to the recorded data, 56 lecturers had voting rights. Of these, 53 lecturers were present to cast their votes, while 2 other lecturers were absent, and 1 was invalid. The results of the academic senate election are as follows:
Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si : 17 votes
Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP. : 15 Votes
Dr. Yasmin Chairunnisa Muchtar, S.P., M.BA. : 21 Votes
Based on the results of the vote count, 3 members of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Vocational Education of USU have been appointed for the period 2024 - 2029, namely: Dr. Yasmin Chairunnisa Muchtar, S.P., M.BA., Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si, and Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP.
Congratulations to the elected academic senate. We hope that the elected senate can carry out this mandate well and contribute positively to the academic development and progress of the USU Faculty of Vocational Education. Their presence in the senate is expected to improve the quality of education and research in the faculty and strengthen collaboration between study programs.
With a new spirit and a clear vision, the Faculty of Vocational Education is ready to face future challenges. We invite the academic community to support the elected senate in carrying out their duties and responsibilities for mutual progress.
