Guest Lecture with UiTM Malaysia Academics

Medan, May 5, 2026 – The Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Banking and Finance of the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Guest Lecture featuring academics from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. This activity is part of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU’s efforts to expand international networks while enhancing students’ global perspectives through cross-country academic collaboration.

The guest lecture was conducted in two different classes, featuring competent speakers in their respective fields. In the first session, Associate Prof. Dr. Azila Azmi delivered a lecture for the Corporate Budgeting Practice course. In her presentation, she explained the importance of effective corporate budgeting and financial planning as part of organizational financial strategy. Students also gained insights into budgeting practices applied in international industry and business contexts.

Meanwhile, the second session featured Ms. Siti Anis Adilah Tarmazi, who delivered the Introduction to Marketing Management course. The material focused on basic marketing concepts, strategies for understanding consumer needs, and the importance of marketing innovation in today’s digital era and global competition.

The event was conducted interactively with high enthusiasm from students, who actively engaged in discussions and asked questions to the speakers. Through this activity, students not only gained additional academic knowledge but also experienced learning from an international perspective relevant to the development of the global industry and workforce.

The Applied Bachelor’s Degree Program in Banking and Finance of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU hopes that this guest lecture activity can strengthen student competencies, enhance global thinking skills, and open wider opportunities for academic collaboration with international educational institutions in the future.
