Medan, August 13–15, 2025 — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again held the Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru (PKKMB) or Introduction to Campus Life for New Students in 2025. The Faculty of Vocational Education welcomed 1,040 new students beginning their academic journey at USU’s green campus. The event occurred on August 13–15, 2025, led by the Head of Committee, Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si.
On the first day, activities commenced at USU Mini Stadium, with various introductions and welcoming sessions. The new students were then directed to the USU Auditorium to participate in a series of programs, including a welcoming address by the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, S.E., M.E. In her speech, she shared the faculty’s vision and mission, introduced the faculty leadership, and presented achievements in the tridharma perguruan tinggi (three pillars of higher education) and innovations accomplished by the Faculty of Vocational Education.
On the second day, students were given a deeper introduction to the Dean’s Office and the Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs. They also received various materials on campus life. They were introduced to the study programs, the Student Executive Board (BEM), and Student Activity Units (UKM) within the Faculty of Vocational Education.
The atmosphere grew livelier on the third day, highlighted by cheerleading competitions and a talent contest from each department. Performances from the Faculty of Vocational Education’s BEM further enlivened the event, which generated great enthusiasm among all the new students.
The 2025 PKKMB of the Faculty of Vocational Education concluded with a strong sense of togetherness through a closing message from the Dean of the Faculty. Accompanied by staff and committee members, all participants sang a closing song to symbolize unity and a renewed spirit in starting their journey as part of the Faculty of Vocational Education family at USU.
