The Vocational Faculty of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Diploma Program in Tax Administration curriculum on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Held at the USU Vocational Faculty Hall, this event aimed to formulate a more adaptive curriculum that aligns with global market demands through collaboration between academics and stakeholders.

The event began with an opening, a prayer, and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem. The Head of the Diploma Program in Tax Administration delivered a welcome speech, followed by the Dean of the Vocational Faculty, who officially opened the FGD. In their introduction and directive, representatives from various stakeholders highlighted the importance of developing a curriculum that is not only theory-based but also applicable in the industrial world.

The discussion, moderated by Aulia Arrif Nst, S.H., M.H., was interactive, with various inputs from participants. Stakeholders from different sectors discussed the challenges and opportunities in the ever-evolving taxation field and how the curriculum can be adjusted to better prepare graduates for global competition.

At the end of the session, the summarized discussion results were read before the event was officially closed. Faisar Eriza, S.Sos., M.S.P., expressed his hope that this FGD would be an initial step in producing excellent and competitive graduates.

Through this FGD, the USU Vocational Faculty reaffirmed its commitment to improving education quality through synergy between academics, practitioners, and industry to produce competent graduates in taxation.
