Medan – On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the Faculty of Vocational Education at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted its regular group exercise (senam bersama) session, attended by lecturers and educational staff (tenaga kependidikan). Held after working hours, the activity serves as an ongoing effort by the Faculty of Vocational Education USU to promote active, healthy living while reinforcing collegial bonds across the academic community.

Guided by a professional fitness instructor, the session proceeded with energy and camaraderie. Participants actively followed the structured exercise routines set to lively music, creating an engaging and rejuvenating atmosphere away from daily operational duties.

Beyond maintaining physical fitness and wellness, the routine exercise session provides a valuable informal space to foster inter-departmental communication and strengthen interpersonal relationships. By engaging in shared wellness activities outside of standard work routines, the faculty aims to cultivate a more harmonious, cohesive, and supportive working environment.

The regular implementation of instructor-led physical activity aligns with the Faculty of Vocational Education's commitment to establishing a healthy, positive, and well-being-focused workplace for all faculty members and staff. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU seeks to sustain a culture of health and solidarity that positively impacts everyday productivity, teamwork, and overall workplace satisfaction.

This health and community initiative directly supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by encouraging physical activity and well-being among staff, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through the promotion of a healthy, supportive, and productive working environment, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by building cohesive, collaborative internal governance structures.
