A friendly atmosphere, fresh ideas, and cross-cultural collaboration characterized the meeting between the USU Vocational Faculty team and UiTM Arau, Malaysia. Through the teaching collaboration and sit-in classes, students and lecturers from the two campuses shared knowledge and inspiration in the spirit of limitless vocational education.
Arau, Perlis (November 6, 2025) – Concluding a series of international visits in Malaysia, a team of lecturers and students from the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) continued their academic activities at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Perlis, Arau Campus. This activity was an important moment in strengthening cooperation between the two educational institutions.
Activities at UiTM Arau included a teaching collaboration session, which featured academic discussions with the dean, lecturers, and students of UiTM. These sessions provided an inspiring space for interaction, where participants exchanged ideas and experiences related to teaching, research, and the development project-based learning relevant to the needs of the industry.
During the event, Dr. Sambas Ade Kesuma, Head of the Public Sector Accounting Study Program, USU Vocational Faculty, shared best practices in teaching and research in Strategic Information Systems Planning. USU students also participated in a sit-in class with UiTM students, creating a warm and interactive cross-cultural learning atmosphere.
Since early morning, a friendly atmosphere was already felt during breakfast together, followed by a casual discussion about collaborative research opportunities, and concluded with a lunch that strengthened the relationship between campuses. “UiTM Arau welcomed us with extraordinary warmth. Our students learn not only in the classroom, but also through direct interactions that build cross-cultural academic networks. We hope this collaboration will continue in the form of joint research and programs,” said Dr. Sambas Ade Kesuma, Head of the Public Sector Accounting Study Program, USU Vocational Faculty.
This activity is expected to serve as a gateway for sustained collaboration between the USU Vocational Faculty and UiTM Arau, both in the fields of teaching, research, and international student activities.
