Medan, February 15, 2025—The Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara, organized a study visit related to student research at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional I. This activity included a lecture on the water treatment process in palm oil mills at PKS Sei Silau. The visit continued with an on-site observation of the PKS Sei Silau PTPN IV Regional I water treatment station.
Through this study visit to PTPN IV Regional I, students of the Diploma Program in Metrology and Instrumentation gained direct insights into the water purification process in palm oil mills, enabling them to design instruments that can optimize this process. Additionally, students had the opportunity to discuss with industry professionals who shared knowledge about the latest technologies and challenges in measurement and process control.
