Medan, July 24, 2026 — The North Sumatra Tax Festival 2026 "Road to Campus" was held at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) as part of efforts to enhance tax literacy and awareness among young people. The event, held at the Auditorium of the USU Faculty of Vocational Education, was attended by the faculty leadership, heads of study programs, lecturers, and students.
The event was officially opened with welcoming remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Education, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, S.E., M.E. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of fostering students' understanding of taxation from an early stage so that they develop not only strong academic competencies but also an awareness of their role as the next generation in supporting national development.
Remarks were also delivered by Taufan, S.STP., M.Si., Head of the Planning and Development Division of the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of North Sumatra Province. Bapenda's participation reflected its commitment to expanding tax education among university students through initiatives that engage directly with the academic community. The "Road to Campus" program is expected to serve as an interactive educational platform where young people can gain a better understanding of the vital role taxation plays in regional development and public welfare.
A highlight of the event was the participation of Jasmine Anastasya Widy, a content creator, Miss University Student 2023, and Outstanding Student 2024, who is also a 2026 graduate of the Diploma Program in English at the USU Faculty of Vocational Education. Jasmine shared her experiences and insights with the students, demonstrating how alumni of the Faculty of Vocational Education can continue to contribute to society and inspire younger generations through diverse professional fields and creative endeavors.
Through the North Sumatra Tax Festival 2026 "Road to Campus", the Faculty of Vocational Education reaffirmed its commitment to developing graduates who are not only academically competent but also aware of the importance of taxation as a key source of public development financing.
