Medan, 31 October 2024—The Diploma Program in English, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a public lecture on Multiculturalism in the Gen-Z Era in the Hall of the Faculty of Vocational Education, USU. This activity featured several speakers who are experts in their fields, discussing the importance of understanding multiculturalism in facing current global challenges.

The public lecture began with remarks from Vice Dean III of the USU Faculty of Vocational Education, Gustanto, M.Hum., who emphasized the importance of the younger generation understanding and applying multiculturalism's values in everyday life. “In this increasingly globalized era, we must be able to appreciate diversity and make it a strength in interacting with the world,” Gustanto said.
The event presented Drs. H. Hasrul Azwar, M.M., Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Morocco, as the main speaker. He shared his experiences and views on the importance of multiculturalism in international diplomacy and how it can shape better relations between nations.
The discussion session was guided by Afrida Sipahutar, lecturer of the Diploma Program in English, who acted as moderator. Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the application of multiculturalism values in various sectors of life, especially in the world of education and globalization. Hopefully, this activity can provide insight and inspiration for students to better understand the importance of multiculturalism in this Gen-Z era.
