Medan, July 28, 2026 – As part of its commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly Community Service, the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Digital Office Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), successfully organized a webinar titled "Smart Money, Smart Future: Planning Your Financial Future from High School" on July 28, 2026. Conducted online via Zoom, the event brought together dozens of high school students from various schools to enhance financial literacy and encourage young people to begin planning their futures at an early stage.

Held under the theme "Future Talk & Future Fellows Program 2026," the webinar aimed to equip participants with knowledge on financial management, personal development, and strategic future planning in preparation for higher education and the professional world. In today's increasingly competitive environment, long-term success depends not only on academic achievement but also on financial preparedness, continuous skill development, and the confidence to seize opportunities.

The seminar featured three student speakers from the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Digital Office Administration at the Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara. They shared inspiring personal experiences on their academic journeys, personal financial management, strategies for building a strong portfolio while still in high school, and the importance of participating in self-development activities and competitions. Through these real-life experiences, participants were encouraged to recognize that success is built upon careful planning, consistency, and the willingness to make the most of every opportunity.

The event was conducted interactively through presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions, receiving enthusiastic participation from attendees. Questions covering career planning, personal finance management, choosing a university major, and preparing for college reflected the participants' strong interest in planning for their future while still in high school.

Through this community service initiative, the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Digital Office Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara, hopes to make a meaningful contribution to improving financial literacy, broadening educational perspectives, and motivating young people to develop well-planned, independent, and competitive futures. The program also reflects the Faculty of Vocational Education's commitment to delivering education that creates a tangible impact on society through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and youth empowerment.
