Medan, November 12, 2025 – Students of the Applied Bachelor's Program in Digital Office Administration, Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and understanding of administrative and secretarial practices through an educational visit to PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo). The visit provided students with firsthand learning experiences, allowing them to gain a closer understanding of administrative systems and workplace dynamics within the port industry.

During the visit, students observed the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices in the workplace and gained insights into the importance of maintaining a safe working environment to support efficient operational activities. They also learned about digital records management, an essential component of modern administration that enhances efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational accountability in the era of digital transformation.

In addition to administrative functions, the program introduced students to the integrated port operational system and the strategic role of administrative frontliners in delivering public services. These experiences provided valuable insights into how administrative and secretarial competencies are professionally applied to support organizational operations and public service delivery.

The educational visit was accompanied by lecturers from the Applied Bachelor's Program in Digital Office Administration, Dr. Tetty Yuliaty, S.E., M.Si., and Yudha Yustiasa, S.I.Kom., M.M. Their guidance ensured that the activity aligned with the program's learning objectives and reflected current workplace practices.

Through this educational visit, students gained learning experiences beyond the classroom by engaging directly with industry professionals and workplace environments. The activity is expected to strengthen their competencies, broaden their professional perspectives, and enhance their readiness to become skilled professionals capable of competing in the digital era.
