I chose this program because I love English; it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I’m working at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Banda Aceh, one of the Technical Implementation Units of the Directorate General of Immigration. Hello, I’m Suci Angger Aini alumni of the Diploma Program in English of Universitas Sumatera Utara. English Diploma is the best major for me because I like communicating, and English is the window of the world so that we can relate with everyone. We are not just studying English, but we study culture, too. We always practice English in class and communicate well with each other. The lecturers are very friendly and helpful. In my 5th semester, I ever interned in the Tourism sector at
the Consulate General of Malaysia, Medan. I use the knowledge that I get in my major for this internship; it is like making reports in English, how to promote tourism, etc. Now, I work for a Singapore company that operates in the sports field and is an English teacher.

As an alumnus of Diploma Program in English, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara, I feel very proud and grateful for the experiences I have gained during my studies. The internship program, which is part of the curriculum of this study program, has had a significant impact on my career development. During my internship, I gained hands-on experience as an educational staff. This experience not only broadened my horizons about the world of work, but also provided an opportunity to apply the theories learned in class in real situations. I learned how to communicate effectively, manage administration, and interact with various parties professionally.
